Experience the Pageantry and Thrills of a Mediaeval Feast
Step back in time and enjoy a succulent 9-course mediaeval feast interspersed with mediaeval enterainment - dancing, music, story-telling and sword fighting, all in a romantic and authentic candlelit setting.
You will eat at a table set with authentic mediaeval tableware and will be served by servants well-versed in the manners of the times. The surroundings will take you back to Scotland in the Middle Ages, where life could be brutal and short, but where pageantry and display were pursued by the nobility.
Your lord and lady will be given pride of place at their own top table, to preside over and enjoy the feasting and merriment, albeit there may be the odd surprise.
The evening begins with a traditional drink of mulled wine, a chance to mingle in the ante-chamber before the guests respond to the chamberlain’s call for them to take their seats. There follows then the ceremonial parade into the hall of the Lord and Lady and their party…then let the feasting begin!
Carefree music accompanies the serving of the food in 3 removes (sets of 3 courses each), and guests are familiarised with customs of the time, such as eating off a trencher rather than a plate, and using a knife without a fork.
Entertainment ensures that time passes quickly and enjoyably, and once the feast is complete, guests are encouraged to participate in simple mediaeval dancing.Successful events organised by Mythos include
